Hurriyah

Dr. Hurriyah is an academic and senior lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia (UI). She serves as the Executive Director of the UI Center for Political Studies (PUSKAPOL) and is also the Chair of the Indonesian Scholars Network for Freedom of Religion or Belief (ISFoRB). Dr. Hurriyah earned her doctorate in Sociology with a dissertation entitled “The Politics of Religious Freedom of Minority Groups in Indonesia”. Her research focuses on issues of democratization, religious freedom, and the relationship between the state and civil society. Besides teaching, she is active in various research projects and scientific publications that contribute to the understanding of political and social dynamics in Indonesia.

Geger Riyanto

Cluster Leader of Asian Livelihoods in Motion

Cluster Leader of Asian Livelihoods in Motion

He is a Cluster Leader at ARC UI and lecturer at the Department of Anthropology, Universitas Indonesia. He also serves as Secretary of the Postgraduate Study Program in the department, contributing to academic development and postgraduate education. He is an expert in anthropology of religion, social relations, and political ethnography. With more than seven years of field research experience, his work explores themes such as social identity, violence, and cultural dynamics in Indonesia. He is actively engaged in scientific publications, producing both journal articles and books that contribute to anthropological scholarship. In addition to his academic work, he is frequently invited as a speaker in seminars and guest lectures, particularly on ethnographic research methods and qualitative approaches.

Bayu A. Yulianto

Dr. Bayu Asih Yulianto is an academic and researcher specializing in sociology, politics, and maritime security, currently serving as a lecturer at the Indonesia Defense University (IDU). He holds a doctorate from the University of Indonesia and a master’s degree from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). Dr. Yulianto actively conducts research related to issues such as maritime security, culture and identity of coastal communities, and the role of state defense in the contemporary context.

Cindy Rianti Priadi

Cindy is associate professor in the Environmental Engineering Study Program, Universitas Indonesia since 2011. With other passionate colleagues and students, she co-creates and runs courses, research, publications, entrepreneurial start-ups and projects related to environmental monitoring, resource recovery and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Indonesia to improve the well being of the people and the planet, particularly focusing urban aquatic ecosystems.

She has been granted a technology patent, co-founded tech startup, awarded best evaluated lecturer in her department and took up various leader roles, such as Vice Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and currently Head of Environmental Engineering Study Program and Vice Head of Center for Engineering Education.

Dave Lumenta

Dr. Dave Lumenta is an anthropologist and lecturer at the Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Indonesia. He completed his PhD in Southeast Asian Area Studies from Kyoto University. His doctoral dissertation, “The Making of a Transnational Continuum: State Partitions and Mobility of the Apokayan Kenyah in Central Borneo, 1900–2007“, reflects his long-standing interest in transnational mobility, border-making, and identity formation in the region.

His research engages with anthropological perspectives on migration, social relations, and cultural identity, particularly in borderland and transnational contexts. Through his work, he contributes to broader discussions on how communities navigate state boundaries and shifting socio-political landscapes in Southeast Asia.

Beyond academia, he is also active as a musician and film composer, contributing to various music and film projects. This creative engagement reflects his interdisciplinary approach to cultural production and storytelling.
