This research examines three key dimensions, including (1) a historical analysis of Indonesia’s civil society since the end of the authoritarian rule in 1998; (2) the neoliberalisation of social movement and the influence of international donors on civil society; (3) insights from key experts on successful models of social movements and civil society practices at the local level.
