Dave Lumenta

Dr. Dave Lumenta is an anthropologist and lecturer at the Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Indonesia. He completed his PhD in Southeast Asian Area Studies from Kyoto University. His doctoral dissertation, "The Making of a Transnational Continuum: State Partitions and Mobility of the Apokayan Kenyah in Central Borneo, 1900–2007", reflects his long-standing interest in transnational mobility, border-making, and identity formation in the region.

His research engages with anthropological perspectives on migration, social relations, and cultural identity, particularly in borderland and transnational contexts. Through his work, he contributes to broader discussions on how communities navigate state boundaries and shifting socio-political landscapes in Southeast Asia.

Beyond academia, he is also active as a musician and film composer, contributing to various music and film projects. This creative engagement reflects his interdisciplinary approach to cultural production and storytelling.
