Prof. Chang Dae-Oup is a historian and Professor at the Graduate School of Global Korean Studies at Sogang University, Seoul. He earned his Ph.D. from Leiden University in 2016 and specializes in modern Korean history, Asian labour movements, and transnational historical approaches. Prof. Chang's research examines the intersections of labour, migration, and political economy across Asia, with particular attention to how workers' movements shaped regional and global transformations in the twentieth century. His work advocates for new historiographical approaches that center labour as a vital lens for understanding Asian modernity, challenging Eurocentric frameworks in labour history. Prof. Chang brings critical expertise in comparative Asian studies and the politics of knowledge production to the project's exploration of digital labour and epistemic power in Southeast Asia.
